Plumbing

I've not written for a while, I'm going to try to get back into the habit again. Well this weekend went well, dad and I put in a new shower for Amandas mum and dad, and I must say that I'm considering a career change to plumbing (well maybe not, its a bit too much like hard work for me).

I spent the remainder of Sunday afternoon trying to change a blown headlight on Amandas car, I kept thinking, surely it can't be this hard, after booking it into to garage it turns out that it is a fairly big job and will take them 45 mins (and they know what they are doing).

Good for the soul

Well it was time for the clear out today ready for our arrival in January. I always find a trip to the tip is good for the soul, I kept up my usual promise, if I/we hadn't used or worn something for 6 months then its of to the tip.
This meant that quite a bit of good "stuff" was thrown away, well actualy we put a lot of items in the clothes and shoe banks.

Well we are of to mum and dads tonight for a dinner party, I may even be compelled to write two entries today (seen as I missed yesterday)

On another note when I started out on the whole "photo a day" thing it hadn't occurred to me that it would help if I did something interesting each day, you never know this may spur me on to all sorts of wild things (i doubt it)

Number 64

I visited number 64 restaurant today, unfortunately the restaurant has had to close down seems a bit strange as each time I tried to book a table they have always been full.

They had a closing down sale so I purchased a few jars

Words of wisdom

Our technical project manager ponders the next quote he is going to scribe, apparently the following quotes are things I have said over the last few weeks

  • "A lot of these problems are because you were wrong. In future...just be right" - cutting through the confusion that arose from one of his earlier ambiguous statements.
  • "Always give in to temptation" - comments regarding how often to buy chips from the chippy.
  • "Don't try and test me - I'm infallible" - response to an impertinent team member who had the audacity to ask a question.
  • "That could be my new mission in life - to turn you into an alcoholic" - following the successful .NET migration, Gareth finds another worthwhile project to devote himself to - with Dafydd as the luck subject.

The migration

Well it finally happened, last night we deployed all the code to .net 2.0. All in all we estimate about three million lines of code
Wilco in particular worked extremely hard
